Located on the campus of the University of Northern Iowa, the Tallgrass Prairie Center works to preserve, restore, and educate visitors about Iowa’s native prairie ecosystems and environmental heritage. The center supports prairie research, conservation projects, educational programs, and public outreach focused on native plants and sustainable landscapes.
Visitors can explore nearby prairie areas, learn about restoration efforts, and experience a landscape that once covered much of Iowa before development and agriculture transformed the region. Educational exhibits and community initiatives help connect visitors to the environmental history and ecology of the Midwest.
Whether attending a program, exploring prairie landscapes, or learning more about native ecosystems, the Tallgrass Prairie Center offers a unique connection to Iowa’s natural heritage in Cedar Falls.
