Barn Happy is a seasonal Iowa-made gift shop, cafe, and gathering space inside a restored 1925 dairy barn featuring homemade meals, baked treats, local goods, and event space.
Transformed from a dairy barn built in 1925, Barn Happy has become a one-of-a-kind destination near Cedar Falls that celebrates Iowa’s agricultural heritage, local makers, and heartland hospitality. The restored barn combines shopping, homemade food, events, and gathering spaces into a uniquely Iowa experience that attracts both locals and visitors, including popular group bus tours.
Inside, guests can browse Iowa-made goods, fine arts, crafts, gifts, specialty foods, and locally inspired products while enjoying homemade soups, baked treats, desserts, and cafe-style meals prepared with local flavor and small-town charm. The warm barn atmosphere and welcoming setting encourage visitors to slow down, explore, and spend time discovering the space.
Barn Happy also offers event space for gatherings and celebrations throughout the year. Because the business operates seasonally, visitors are encouraged to check winter hours before traveling. The Crib is a charming, climate-controlled vintage corn crib near Barn Happy, ideal for parties, showers, meetings, and small gatherings of up to 50 guests. Amenities include a bathroom, kitchenette, serving counter, tables, and outdoor space. Barn Happy does not provide food, beverages, or table service.

The Crib is a remodeled vintage corn crib offering a warm, distinctive setting for your next celebration, meeting, or small gathering. Located approximately 40 feet north of Barn Happy, this separate rental space pairs rustic character with practical modern amenities.
Comfortably seating up to 50 guests, The Crib is well suited for office meetings, team-building events, birthday parties, baby and wedding showers, rehearsal dinners, and other special occasions. The insulated space is heated and cooled seasonally for guest comfort and includes a private bathroom, kitchenette, and long serving counter for convenient event setup.
The rental includes four 84-by-42-inch rectangular tables and four 42-inch square tables. Tables may be arranged to suit your event and should be returned to their original configuration afterward.
Barn Happy does not provide food, beverages, or table service. Guests are welcome to bring their own food and nonalcoholic beverages or hire a caterer. Beer and wine are permitted; hard alcohol is not allowed.
