Get ready for Young Frankenstein, the musical comedy based on Mel Brooks’ beloved film. This special Cedar Valley production brings together the Gallagher Bluedorn Performing Arts Center, Waterloo Community Playhouse, Cedar Falls Community Theatre, and the Waterloo-Cedar Falls Symphony for a large-scale local theater event.
Frederick Frankenstein has spent years distancing himself from his notorious grandfather, Victor Frankenstein. But when he inherits the family estate in Transylvania, he finds himself drawn into the world of strange experiments, a loyal assistant named Igor, lab assistant Inga, and a creation that may be more alive than anyone planned.
Featuring crowd-pleasing songs including “The Transylvania Mania,” “He Vas My Boyfriend,” and “Puttin’ on the Ritz,” Young Frankenstein delivers broad comedy, classic movie references, and a full stage experience. It’s a fun night out for fans of the original film and first-time visitors alike.
