Hero Appreciation Weekend is an annual event hosted by QRFup (Quick Reaction Force). The weekend brings service members, veterans, first responders, families, partner organizations, and community supporters together for recognition, connection, and practical resources.
Guests are invited to come learn, connect, and show support for those who serve and those who have served. The event includes a movie viewing, workshops, vendor booths, a tattoo competition, and time to meet organizations that support veterans, first responders, and their families.
Hero Appreciation Weekend is a space for awareness, connection, recognition, resources, and support. It’s a chance to listen, learn, honor service, and be part of a community effort that reaches people when support matters most.
About the Organization:
QRFup supports service members, veterans, first responders, and their families during difficult moments by providing free, confidential crisis support and helping connect people with care when they need it most. The organization also works to expand access to alternative mental health services across Iowa, including rural and underserved communities.
