The American Discovery Trail 250 Relay is coming to Cedar Falls on Thursday, October 1.
Running from July through Thanksgiving, the relay follows the full 6,800-mile American Discovery Trail. Participants are traveling by bike, foot, wheelchair, and horseback in a free, noncompetitive, nonpolitical event celebrating America’s culture, heritage, landscapes, and community spirit.
Cedar Falls is proud to be the American Discovery Trail’s first Iowa Trail Town. This stop highlights the downtown services available close to the trail, including lodging, dining, bike shops, the post office, and other helpful amenities for trail travelers.
Want to be part of the celebration?
Join a leg of the American Discovery Trail 250 Relay as it travels through the Cedar Valley.
Ride: Take on the 72.6-mile route from Marshalltown to Cedar Falls on Thursday, October 1. or pick a town along the route to join from for a shorter leg.
Walk: Join all or a part of the 5.4-mile route from Cedar Falls to Waterloo on Friday, October 2.

Join us to welcome the relay team as they arrive in Cedar Falls.
Thursday, October 1, with an estimated arrival time of 4 p.m. Meet at 2nd Street and State Street to welcome riders carrying a special baton that includes a replica of the Declaration of Independence.
